Did I really just use the word Momedy? Yes, yes, I did.

Comedy aimed at mothers is pretty hit or miss. My sense of humor jives least with the over-the-top, trying-too-hard style.

You know, a toned woman, pulling her hair out and grimacing while three kids hang from her chandelier in the background. It’s not that it’s not funny, we’ve just seen it already.

I am a fan of average parent problems on Instagram, created by mommy Shorts blogger Ilana Wiles. It’s a combination of her own shots and fan submissions, all captioned with Ilana’s consistent, minimalist voice. here are a few examples of what’s in her feed:
