A family holiday to Alicante with James Villas

Tomorrow, 3 generations of the family – myself, my husband Peter, our 2 sons: Oliver and Alexander and my parents – will be heading Alicante staying in a vacation home kindly c/o of James Villas.

Regular readers will no doubt remember that last time all 6 of us were implied to head on holiday with James Villas which didn’t quite go to plan, with a little event now referred to as ‘Passportgate’ thwarting our plans.

The night before we were implied to fly, we discovered that my eldest child Oliver’s passport had just expired and there was no way we could sort a new one in time for the holiday.

Lots of tears and soul-searching later we chose that I would still choose our youngest child Xander and my parents, whilst Peter and Oliver would have a fantastic ‘staycation’ on the coast of Wales.

The holiday in Marbella was amazing and the vacation home we stayed in was simply gorgeous. The vacation home cum mansion (!) was equipped with everything you (or Beyonce) could possibly need or want including a private swimming pool, jacuzzi, luxe kitchen and even a playroom in the basement for little ones.

Whilst it was good to be able to dedicate my attention to Xander for a whole week and see my Aunt and Uncle who live in Marbella, I desperately missed my 2 young boys so can’t wait for us all to go away again this time with a beautiful break in Alicante on the Southeastern coast of the country.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again…blogging really is the best profession in the world and I am so extremely grateful for all the fantastic experiences and travel opportunities it bestows upon our family.

I know I write how grateful I am a lot and often the much more I repeat it, the less genuine it potentially sounds but I really am thankful, because yes I work hard but we all do and I do value everything this blog brings into mine and my family’s lives.

Travel is a gift, no much more so for my children who have seen a lot of the world at such a young age thanks to the blog…

This time we will be staying at the utterly dreamy vacation home Maria, nestled in the heart of the Jalon Valley, an area with breathtaking views of orange groves, orchards and olive trees set against a majestic mountain backdrop.

And whilst we are on the subject of majestic views, our vacation home doesn’t look too shabby either.

It’s been an extremely busy few weeks here at truthful mum HQ, filming for ITV’s good morning Britain, travelling up down the country for client meetings and press days and taking part in various style and food campaigns, so I’m really looking forward to week of relaxation in the sun.

Towards the end of the week (hopefully a little sunkissed) I will be taking part in 2 shoots for luxe swimwear brand heidi klein where I’ll be modelling one pieces, bikinis, hats, bags and jewellery-it is all so divine I simply can’t wait to share it with you guys.
This pool makes the ideal backdrop don’t you think?

I shall be blogging about the holiday next week, so keep your eyes peeled for post and do keep in touch with my travels on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook too.

Right I better go and pack!
